The Seller-Buyer messaging system in Amazon Seller Central enables sellers to communicate with buyers, and vice versa. It’s a great way for customers to contact sellers if they have a question about a product they have recently purchased, or are planning to buy.
In March of this year, Amazon made some updates to the way the internal messaging system can be used, ensuring that it is only used for critical messages relating to orders or to customer service questions. The ability to add the word ‘Important’ to the subject line has been removed, and so has the ability to override the buyer’s opt-in/opt-out preference. However, Amazon has assured sellers that if a message is critical to completing an order, it will be delivered anyway, even if the buyer has opted out of receiving messages.
Amazon recommends that sellers use the provided message templates, which can be accessed from Seller Central.
